April 28, World Day for Safety and Health at Work is commemorated in order to raise awareness about the importance of guaranteeing safe, healthy and decent work for all.

The European Dockworkers Council ·EDC· is committed to tirelessly working to ensure that all Dockworkers have access to a safe and healthy work environment.

Ensuring the Health and Safety of Dockworkers is a fundamental responsibility. However, preventable accidents persist year after year.

In response, we raise our voices to demand safer, more humane, and more sustainable working environments aboard vessels. We do not accept that cost-cutting overrides our rights. We call for strict international standards on the safety of Dockworkers aboard vessels calling at European ports.

We are committed to driving real improvements in working conditions that protect Dockworkers health and safety, with safe equipment and a culture where safety is mandatory.

BECAUSE NO JOB IS WORTH A LIFE.
